Healthy Eating for a Bright Future

A proper and healthy diet must adequately meet three fundamental needs of the body. First, it must provide fuel to produce energy in the form of heat and work (energy and caloric function), a role carried out primarily by fats and carbohydrates. Second, it must supply the structural materials necessary for growth (plastic function), mainly provided by proteins and amino acids. Finally, regulatory substances maintain the body in good condition, allowing vital processes to function normally and increasing the body’s resistance to disease (regulatory or protective function), thanks to minerals and vitamins.

The primary requirement for a rational diet is that it is complete and balanced in all its nutritional components, suited to the needs of a growing child, and appropriate to their physiological or any pathological conditions.

The school’s kitchen is internal, and meals are prepared using foods that are as natural and easily digestible as possible, appropriately varied: meat, fish, eggs, cheeses, legumes, grains, vegetables, and fresh seasonal fruit.
